Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen

March 18, 2023 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

I love Pokemon, and Kanto has always been my favorite region. I love the original Pokemon, and the simplicity of Kanto just appeals to me. FR and LG remain the best way to play Gen 1 for me.

This time around, I played LeafGreen and tried to change up my party a bit. Whenever I played a kid, I would make my Starter my main, then capture a Pidgey and a few other standbys. This time, I used some different ones - Kinger, Fearow, Parasect, Haunter, and Nidoqueen along with my starter. It didn't really make the game any harder, but it was fun using some less common Mons.

This is a an awesome, approachable traditional JRPG. The game still looks fantastic with its timeless art and sprites, and the soundtrack is great. If you've never played Pokemon somehow, these games are maybe the best entry. The storyline is simple, the world fun to explore, and there's a good amount of post-game to keep you busy after the credits.

Verdict: Finished

My biggest project is my Game Library Project. I have a ton of games collected throughout the years, and have barely played any of them. Check out the linked post to learn more about the project, and click here to be taken to the category page where you can see all my posts for the project.
