The Daughter's War is a sort-of prequel to The Blacktongue Thief, focusing entirely on Galva and filling in her backstory. It's a good novel, with a bunch of fun characters and a bit worldbuilding, but it also feels a bit like a filler story relative to The Blacktongue Thief.

Every few years, usually in May, we're treated to a new Guy Gavriel Kay novel. He's by far my favorite author, and his unique blend of historical fiction with just a little bit of fantasy and his melancholic, thoughtful prose always resonate with me.
The Devils is an excellent start to a new trilogy by Joe Abercrombie, and while it doesn't hit the same heights as his more grimdark work, it's a fun romp.
A Prayer for the Crown-Shy is the latest in Becky Chambers feel-good low states sci-fi novellas. This one continues the journeys of Dex and Mosscap, asking questions about what humans really need and what drives them in a post-scarcity world.
