Pokemon Platinum

March 19, 2023 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

Sinnoh is far from my favorite Pokemon region, ranking firmly behind Kanto, Hoenn, and Unova. That said, Platinum is the best way to play gen 4 by fay, and it moves the series forward in ways that have had longstanding effects on the series.

The graphics here are incredible for the DS, the pixel art looks great and is a natural evolution of the GBA games. Pokemon designs are fun, but not as iconic as previous generations, for me. A downside of this one is that it feels kind of slow. Attack animations are slow, the EXP bar fills slowly, and battles can take a long time because of it. Using an emulator with fast forward solves that problem though.

Platinum is absolutely chock full of postgame stuff too. If you're going to play a gen 4 game, and you should, Platinum is the best way to play.

Verdict: Finished

My biggest project is my Game Library Project. I have a ton of games collected throughout the years, and have barely played any of them. Check out the linked post to learn more about the project, and click here to be taken to the category page where you can see all my posts for the project.
