With excellent shooting mechanics and deep lore, Destiny 2 is really the only option for a story focused, massively multiplayer shooting game. I enjoyed my time with it, but when I played it, the new player experience was awful, and Bungie's habit of vaulting paid content is disappointing.
Stardew is the indie answer to Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. You're a farmer, and can craft your farm however you want - focus on crops, fishing, manufacturing, or ignore it al and just talk to townspeople.
An improvement on the first game in every way, and still supported with DLC packs. Tons of quests, an interesting story (including the entire story of Xenoverse 1) and more items, moves, and characters than before.
