Slay the Spire is the card game that kicked off the genre's resurgence. It's incredibly well made, with a bunch of content and a thriving mod community.
Crusader Kings 2 is maybe my favorite game of all time. I'm a big history fan, especially the Medieval period, and I like strategy games, so CK2 ticks pretty much all my boxes. It's a great feeling taking a minor dynasty that rules one county and turning them into a huge world power.
Soft Body is a neat little puzzle game with some bullet hell elements. Your objective is to move your character past each empty square to fill it in, while dodging projectiles and destroying enemies.
Scribblenauts was a game that I first played on the DS, but it wasn't until I got it on the PC that I completed it. The game is simple at its core, made for kids, but there's a surprising amount of depth. You've got a magic notebook and can conjure up any object you can think of to solve puzzles...
I've had Roadwarden on my wishlist for years before release, and for a year or so afterwards. I finally picked it up on a decent sale, and I'm sad to say I'm really not enjoying it.
