As a history buff and fan of historical fiction, I really enjoyed Pendragon Rising. You play as Arthur, bastard son of Uther, as you rise to eventually take the kingdom. Not really a game, and not a visual novel, Pendragon Rising is a choose your own adventure game.
An Octave Higher is a visual novel. I played it several years ago, and frankly don't remember a ton of it. I remember enjoying the music, and that it left a good impression on me. An Octave Higher takes about 3 hours to complete one playthrough, and there's some room for replayability if you take...
Originally released in 1993, Day of the Tentacle is a classic of the point and click genre. I've never played the original, and got this one as a free monthly PS Plus game. This version has updated graphics, and looks great. You can also swap to the original graphics at any point.
Sleeping Dogs is a great game. It's United Front Games' answer to GTA 4, and arguably it's the better game. Set in Hong Kong, Sleeping Dogs features a richly detailed map with plenty to explore, and a story on par with anything Rockstar had put out at the time.
Ryse: Son of Rome is a perfectly average game. It's got average gameplay, an average story, and an average length. It's a run of the mill hack and slash game where you play as a Roman soldier seeking revenge for his murdered family. Combat is fun, but makes heavy use of QTEs than can get old...
The Walking Dead Season 2 picks up where Season 1 leaves off. We play as Clementine, forced to grow up too fast, and meet a whole new cast of characters. The gameplay remains the same as in Season 1.
