A Postcard From Afthonia

May 17, 2026 - Reading time: 2 minutes - Category: game library project

Several years ago (bordering on many years ago, good lord), I played The Sea Will Claim Everything, a point and click game by Jonas Kyratzes who would later go on to work on the Talos Principle games, among others.

I don't remember a ton from that game, as it's been 9 years since then, but I remember some of the philosophy and the distinctive art style. Jonas recently updated TSWCE with a bunch of other smaller games and media all set in his Lands of Dream universe, one of which being A Postcard From Afthonia.

This game is short, funny, and I really, really love the art. Really great music too, produced by Chris Christolodou who is always excellent. The message at the end is very sweet, and the "plot", such as it is, is not terribly deep but will still make you think. I really like this world that's been created and I'm going to play the rest of these little games. I'm not sure I understand everything being told to me, but that's ok. This one took just about half an hour to finish.

Verdict: Finished

About

My name's Mike, and this is the Lore Depository - my spot online where I can write out my thoughts on games, books, tech, movies, and anything else I find interesting.

My biggest project is my Game Library Project. I have a ton of games collected throughout the years, and have barely played any of them. Check out the linked post to learn more about the project, and click here to be taken to the category page where you can see all my posts for the project.

Another project I'm working on is my Pokemon Living Dex Challenge, where I try to obtain one of each available Pokemon and transfer them into Pokemon Home.

Yet another project I'm working on is my Old School RuneScape "Completionist" Quest, where I'm attempting to max out all skills and see everything the game has to offer as a completely new player.

Other content comes mainly in 3 forms:
Reviews, where I post longer-form review writeups
Thoughts, short & quick first impressions posts
Guides, detailed how-tos and walkthroughs
