Anodyne

November 9, 2025 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

Anodyne is an indie 2D Zelda-like game that's been around for a while. I remember it getting some hype in the early days of indie games on Steam, and it's been in my library for over a decade, but I've never tried it till now.

I see why it was decently popular back in the day. It does a good job mimicking the 2D Zelda formula, and seems to tell an interesting story. However, it really didn't grab me. The controls are really simple, the graphics nothing special, and this type of game has been done so often in the last decade that Anodyne doesn't really stand out for me.

You'll enjoy this one if you really like the 2D Zelda games, though.

Verdict: Uninstall
