Evil West is one of the free monthly games for PS Plus for January 2024. At first glance it looks super cool, and the tutorial level was ok. The combat is weighty and feels ok, a bit like a knock off God of War.It didn't really hook me enough to keep playing. The graphics are great, but the color palette is muted and everything seems to blend together a lot. I liked the brutality of the combat, but I didn't like that the kick/knockback was mapped to R3 - it was hard to hit in the middle of using R1 and R2 for melee attacks.

This one seems like a pretty standard third-person action game. At first glance I thought it was an FPS and I would've liked it a lot better if it was - I general prefer first-person games. Maybe one to take a look at down the road, but there are so many good games to play it's hard to spend time on one that seems pretty mediocre.
