Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time

May 19, 2025 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

I never played the original Fantasy Life game on the 3DS but it always seemed like something I'd enjoy. I like games where you can turn your brain off and grind, getting more powerful while feeling like you're accomplishing something too. This is probably why Maplestory is still one of my most played games ever.

Fantasy Life is definitely scratching that itch. I've only played an hour, but I can tell from what I've played so far that this is right up my alley. There are a dozen jobs in the game that you can freely switch between (I've only unlocked one) and each of them have a multitude of quests, leveling up independently. There's combat-focused, gathering-focused, and crafting-focused jobs all with extensive skill trees.

The story is a little juvenile, but that's to be expected. I play a lot of games while watching or listening to something on my other monitor, and this game seems absolutely perfect for that.

Verdict: Keep Playing
