Marvel's Spider-Man 2

November 23, 2025 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

I really enjoyed the 2018 Spider-Man game, and it's standalone Miles Morales expansion (to a somewhat lesser extent), but with the sequel's reviews being a bit less glowing I decided to wait for a sale before playing. It's finally gone on sale for a good price so I picked it up.

I've only played the first mission so far, which serves as a tutorial, but it definitely seems like more of the same. The combat mechanics, as far as I can tell, are identical with some extra abilities thrown in. Web swinging for traversal still feels great, and it was a highlight of the first game for me. The map is expanded, but the game hasn't opened up for exploration or side content yet.

I'll undoubtedly finish this one. I'm interested to see whether it holds up to the first game.

Verdict: Keep Playing
