The Song of the Exile review

September 25, 2025 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: reviews

The Song of the Exile is the strongest entry in the series yet, with the strongest plot and characters we've seen.

It's really well-paced, and the plot moves along quickly. I like how it sticks as close to the history as possible while filing in the gaps with plausible events. Nothing here feels like it's being forced to fit the plot. If you've made it this far in the series you know what you're getting into and will enjoy it.

I hope there are more of these - I'm interested to see how Rodrigo's eventual rule over Valencia is portrayed.
