I'm a little late this time around, but I did manage to play a few demos form February's Steam Next Fest.
I enjoyed a few of them, adding some to my wishlist. Others I liked, but I'm not sure about a purchase yet.
Forbidden Solitaire - This is another Solitaire game from Grey Alien Games, who have kind of made that their niche. I really liked Faerie Solitaire, and this one seems just as good. There's a cool meta-story where you're playing a "lost media" game from the 90s that was super controversial due to its graphic content. It's just solitaire, but it's a pretty fun theme. Wishlisted.
Denshattack! - This one wasn't on my radar at all, I just saw it while browsing and was pleasantly surprised. It's an on-rails delivery game with a nice art style, where you move through stages and have to do tricks and rack up score to get better grades. A little Tony Hawk mixed with a bit of Crazy Taxi.
Dungeons of DUSK - This is a dungeon-crawler take on DUSK, the popular boomer shooter from a few years ago. I liked it, but it's not a genre I have a ton of love for. I'm keeping my eye on this one, but haven't wishlisted.
Vampire Crawlers - Sort of like Dungeons of DUSK, this is a dungeon crawler/roguelite version of Vampire Survivors. I enjoyed that game, though I didn't sink nearly as much time into as many others did. The gameplay translates really nicely into this new genre, and I can tell this is going to be a hit. Already lots of content in the demo. Wishlisted.
Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth - This is a cute little adventure game with absolutely gorgeous watercolor art. I'm not familiar with Moomin as an IP - apparently it's popular in Sweden - but the little bit of the game I got to experience here was super charming and cute. Not a ton of gameplay, but the story and visuals are so charming. It makes me want to play the studio's previous game, Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, immediately. Clearly made with a whole lot of love.
